George W. Bush spoke candidly for the first time since 2008 Presidential Election on meeting with Obama plus his pride and regrets.
“My choice didn’t win,” Bush said in his first media interview since Election Day. “I was for John McCain. I felt he battled hard. But I meant what I said after the election, that the election of Barack Obama is an historic moment for our country.”
With hula dancers, chanting and rock ‘n’ roll, a Japanese town named Obama rejoices as its namesake is elected president of the United States.
An ocean away from the United States, this ancient fishing town of 32,000 people - Obama means “small shore” in Japanese - adopted Democrat Barack Obama as one of its own and put on a party to match.
Japanese who a year ago would hardly have followed the US election chanted Obama’s name and his slogan, “Yes, we can!” as he won the White House.
In tribute to Hawaii, Obama’s state of birth, more than a dozen residents in lei garlands and “I Love Obama” T-shirts danced the hula as late-night returns put Obama over the top.

Adam Smith, also known as Steve Zacharanda a Birmingham Mail reporter
came to Miami last week to cover the election because, as he put it, “I aint going to go to Ohio, am I? I go to Miami, because that’s where the party is.”
Adam Smith added, “I wanted to be here because I’m here for history. The trouble is, the readers of the Birmingham Mail are going to get my version of history. And I’m just a little bit pissed.”
Adam then said, “Thank God for the BBC, because I’m cutting and pasting, baby!”
“f*ck you” resignation from the Birmingham Mail, saying, “My name is Adam Smith, also known as Steve Zacharanda, who has just resigned from the Birmingham Mail, the Birmingham Post and the Birmingham Sunday Mercury, to set up my own magazine…Fuckk you, I’m doing what I want.”
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called former aides of Sen. John McCain “jerks” for circulating unflattering stories about her since the Republican ticket lost its bid for the White House Tuesday. Palin says comments about Africa, NAFTA taken out out of context.
“Those were taken out of context and that’s cruel,” Palin said. “It’s mean-spirited. It’s immature. It’s unprofessional and those guys are jerks if they came away with it, taking things out of context, and then tried to spread something on national news.”
